PROJECT SCOPE

DGA’s design for the illumination of the Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge to replace the old Tappan Zee Bridge encompasses nearly three miles of roadway lighting, dynamic color-changing articulation of major structural features, adjacent bikeway and walkway, pedestrian plazas and associated support facilities.  Signature touches include the washing of multiple bridge surfaces such as the cables, towers and piers with programmable LED luminaires, as well as roadway and shared-use path lighting designed for nighttime safety and expressive daytime form.
